Snocross Ace Tucker Hibbert Prepared to Make History at X Games Aspen

January 21, 2013 – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert has his sight set on capturing the first-ever X Games Aspen gold medal six-peat Sunday afternoon on Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colo. This year marks the return of snocross at X Games after a one-year absence and Hibbert’s 13th career appearance at the event.

In 2000, Hibbert shocked the action sports world by becoming the youngest gold medalist in history as a 15-year-old amateur. He has continued his dominance in the sport by winning another nine X Games medals including a five-year gold streak from 2007 to 2011. With his ten medals, he is the most decorated athlete in a single winter discipline. Outside of X Games, he holds two FIM World Championships, six Pro National Championships and 73 Pro National victories.

Hibbert is riding high into Aspen after winning four-straight pro finals on the ISOC National Snocross Tour and completing an intense altitude training program. Since the majority of snocross events are held near sea level, over the past ten years, he and his crew have developed an in-depth testing program to ensure his Arctic Cat Sno Pro 600 is specifically tuned to perform at high altitude.

Fans worldwide can watch qualifying and the final event live Sunday on ESPN, ESPN3D and WatchESPN.com from 4 to 6 p.m. ET. To catch the behind the scenes action, visit www.tucker-hibbert.com and link to Hibbert’s social media sites.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“It’s exciting for me and the Monster Energy/Arctic Cat team as a whole to have X Games on our schedule again. X Games always gives us that spark to work hard and keep pushing. It’s a unique event that we put a lot of effort towards.
This is a big year with the six-peat on the line but I’m not approaching it any different. The number one goal is to be prepared so I’m doing the same things I’ve always done.”
