Arizona’s State HOG Rally will roll into Williams June 9 to 11 with new events.

The rally will feature bike games, a bike show, guided rides and a poker walk, this year will include a street dance hosted by Grand Canyon Brewing Co. & Cruiser’s Café.

Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce event coordinator Sue Atkinson said the dances will feature entertainment on two stages. There will be no cover to attend, and the dance is open to local residents along with HOG Rally participants. The dance will take place both Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Another special attraction will be the “Arizona Copper Chopper” centennial mascot. Arizona’s centennial is in 2012. The Arizona Centennial Copper Chopper motorcycle serves as an ambassador, or the “official mascot,” of the Centennial. Organized through the nonprofit Arizona Centennial 2012 Foundation, the Copper Chopper is traveling the state for 17 months, from Oct. 2010 until Feb. 2012, promoting Arizona’s 100th anniversary of Statehood, motorcycle safety, and Arizona history.

The public will have an opportunity to enter to win this one-of-a-kind artwork and buying a $5 drawing ticket. There will be monthly finalists for the Copper Chopper and each of these monthly finalists will have the opportunity to be part of the final drawing for the Copper Chopper, which will be the week of Feb. 14, 2012 at the Best Fest of Phoenix.

“Williams is a great place,” rally organizer Nick Feldaverd told the Williams News. “We were there for seven years in a row and then we went to Tucson for three years and everybody loves to come back to Williams.”
