Tucker Hibbert Closes Snocross Season with a Victory in Sweden

March 30, 2013 – After winning his sixth-consecutive X Games gold medal and clinching the 2013 ISOC Pro Open National Championship, Tucker Hibbert achieved his third and final goal of the season by taking a victory at Sweden’s Clash of Nations Super Snowcross event. Sunshine and near 40-degree weather welcomed thousands of fans to Lugnet Arena in Falun March 28-29 to watch two days of international racing action on a 50-second, clockwise, supercross style snocross track.

Riders warmed up for Friday’s Super Snowcross event with a Head-2-Head bracket race competition Thursday evening. Hibbert made it to the Head-2-Head final but came up short in the intense one-lap race against Sweden’s Peter Narsa.

Friday featured a full day of racing with three rounds of qualifying to cut the 32-rider Pro Open field to 16 for the main event. Hibbert won his first two qualifiers with flag to flag victories and was in second place in the third round when a mechanical issue caused him to back off and slowly ride to the finish. Despite a seventh place pick in the main event, he ripped another monster holeshot and ran away with the win. He was never challenged for the lead and finished 11 seconds ahead of Narsa with Logan Christian in third.

Hibbert will now shift gears to racing cross-country mountain bikes and preparing for select AMA Pro Motocross Championship 450 class events. For details on his summer schedule, stay posted to www.tucker-hibbert.com.

“It was awesome to come back to Sweden, take a win and finish the season healthy. It’s a great feeling flying across the world and having fans cheer for you. I’m always surprised by the amount of support and excitement from fans in Scandinavia.

To sit back and look at where we (the team) were last year and to now have one of the best seasons of my career is overwhelming. We worked hard and it paid off. There are so many people behind the scenes that make it possible for me to get on my snowmobile and race. When everyone is working towards the same goal, that’s when success comes. It was a great year and we’re all excited about next winter already!

I’m looking forward to taking a couple weeks to rest and regroup, then jumping right into riding mountain bikes and getting ready to race motocross. For the first time in three years, I’m 100 percent healthy and ready to rip this summer. I’m filling up my calendar fast with races and that’s just the way I like it.”

Tucker Hibbert Captures Seventh National Snocross Championship Title

March 18, 2013 – Tucker Hibbert captured his seventh national snocross title with an impressive performance in the Pro Open class at the final round of the ISOC tour in Lake Geneva, Wisc. After a rough season last year, Hibbert and team Monster Energy/Arctic Cat came back with a vengeance winning 11 of the 16 final events and never finishing outside the top-five.

Although Hibbert clinched the championship in qualifying Friday, he put together back-to-back fierce rides in the final events that will not be soon forgotten. Grand Geneva Resort featured the longest and most challenging snocross track in ISOC history. The wide, windy course scaled the Grand Geneva ski hill a record three times and boasted a lap time well over one minute.

Friday night, Hibbert swept his qualifying rounds and led nine of ten laps in the final to win his 80th professional national main event by 17 seconds. His competitive drive pushed on Saturday night in what unfolded as one of the most riveting comeback rides in history.

With a seventh place start in Saturday’s 15-rider, ten-lap final, it looked like a runaway race for holeshot winner Ross Martin. Hibbert rode with patience and precision to pick off one rider at a time and by lap five, he moved into third place. With Martin in sight, he charged forward, passing second place Tim Tremblay and crushing Martin’s once nine-second lead. With two to go and the roaring crowd on its feet, Hibbert moved into striking distance of Martin. Hibbert continued to ride with intensity and control, looking for a clean pass but Martin held his line to the final corner to win by only 0.23 of a second.

Hibbert has one event left on his 2012/2013 snocross schedule. Later this week, he will travel to Falun, Sweden for northern Europe’s top action sports event, Clash of Nations. It will mark his second time competing in the snowmobile crazed country with the first being the 2010 FIM Snowcross World Championship. Fans can watch Clash of Nations live online March 28-29 at www.clashofnations.se

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“This has been an incredible year. Every member of the Monster Energy/Arctic Cat crew gave their all to win this championship. I’m grateful to work with people who are as passionate as I am.

Racing under the lights at Lake Geneva was a cool experience. It felt great to wrap up the championship Friday night but I wanted to win bad on Saturday. I charged hard. Taking second gives me more drive to work harder this summer to come out swinging at Duluth.

I’m really excited about going back to Sweden. I didn’t get to race Clash of Nations last year because of my injury at Lake Geneva. They know how to put on first-class events and build big, challenging tracks in Sweden. It’ll be a great way to finish the season!”

Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series Riders Set for Impressive Performances at DAYTONA 200 Week

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 14, 2013) – History — and common sense — suggest that this weekend’s AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway will be nothing short of a multi-rider dogfight to the checkered flag.

Four motorcycle racers compete on a track, leaning into a turn. The riders, wearing helmets and racing gear, are numbered 33, 123, 29, and 34. They are closely grouped, with rider 33 leading the pack. The background shows blurred spectators and track barriers.

Entering its fourth season of existence, the spec class series has quickly earned its place in the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing line-up by producing reliably close and unpredictable racing, and nowhere has that been more evident than on the high banks of Daytona.

The two previous H-D Daytona clashes were defined by strategic gamesmanship and impossibly close maneuvers and the same will be expected in 2013.

In 2011, Kyle Wyman won by .016 seconds over Chris Fillmore, with Joe Kopp just 0.89 seconds off the win and Steve Rapp missing the podium but only 0.136 seconds short of taking the checkered flag first.

2012 saw Wyman win again in another contest that saw four men take hit the stripe within a second of the win with season-long title rivals Tyler O’Hara and Michael Barnes rounding out the podium.
While Wyman’s promising campaign ended early due to injury last season, the championship wasn’t decided until after the checkered flag was waved for the final race of the season, with the nod going to Barnes over O’Hara in what was the culmination in the Floridian’s long quest to claim his first individual AMA Pro crown.

Barnes is back with the #1 plate in 2013, riding a Rossmeyers Harley-Davidson backed by Bikers Choice. O’Hara (Eco Fuel Saver, Scrubblade, Bartel’s Harley-Davidson) and Wyman (Revolution Performance, Millennium Technologies) return as well, as the three men will look to reignite their three-way rivalry for class dominance.

However, there are other riders in the field with the potential to push for the checkered flag. Chief among them are former Superbike hero Rapp, who is back on an XR1200 with Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson, joining ex-Supermoto ace Ben Carlson, who has developed into a fine roadracer aboard the big Harley twin.

New Jersey Motorsports Park winner Shane Narbonne will again compete for Mob Racing, while SportBike race winner Bobby Fong and British sensation Sandra Stammova will team with champ Barnes on Rossmeyers Harley-Davidson equipment.

Michael Corbino (Rossiter’s Harley-Davidson of Sarasota), Josh Chisum (Eco Fuel Saver, Scrubblade, JC Racing), Travis Wyman (Harv’s Harley-Davidson), and Steve Crevier (Motorsports Plus) are just a few of the other names that could easily prove to be factors up front in what’s virtually guaranteed to be a hard-fought AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson opener.

Qualifying for Vance & Hines Harley -Davidson Series grid positions will take place in two sessions, Thursday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. and Friday morning at 9:40 a.m. The 7-lap contest will kick off the 2013 GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing season’s race action on Friday at 2:15 p.m. local time.

Hibbert Focused on Clinching Seventh National Snocross Championship

March 13, 2013 – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert is focused on clinching his seventh National Snocross Championship this weekend in Lake Geneva, Wisc. For the first time in history, the final two rounds of the ISOC National Snocross tour will be held under the lights Friday and Saturday on the ski hill of Grand Geneva Resort.

A person stands in a snow-covered landscape wearing a racing suit with logos from Monster Energy, Arctic Cat, Ram, and other sponsors. They are smiling and wearing a black cap. Snow-covered trees and mountains are visible in the background.

Hibbert is having a banner year winning 10 of the 14 ISOC Pro Open finals and never finishing outside of the top-five. He enters this weekend with a 77-point lead over second place (577-500). With 90 points on the line between qualifying the final events Friday and Saturday, he is positioned to clinch the title Friday night.
Hibbert is not only looking to win the championship, he’s looking for redemption after a high-speed, downhill crash at Lake Geneva last year left him in the hospital for two weeks with a lacerated kidney. After a remarkable recovery, he is having one of the most successful snocross seasons of his 13-year professional career.
Pro Open racing takes place both Friday and Saturday at Grand Geneva Resort’s ski hill from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Hibbert will not compete in Sunday’s race events but will be on-site interacting with fans from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more details on his Sunday schedule, visit www.facebook.com/TuckerHibbert.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“This year’s been awesome so far. I had a few races where I made some mistakes and didn’t finish as well as I wanted but overall we (the team) have won a lot of races. My team has worked super hard all year to be in the position we’re in. Consistency is what it takes to win a championship. We’ve done a good job minimizing our mistakes. It’s a testament to how good the Monster Energy/Arctic Cat team is this year and how strong the Sno Pro 600 is.
Having a solid season feels really good after the rough year we had last season. Getting injured at Lake Geneva was a bummer but it motivated me to come back stronger. Looking back, maybe it was a blessing in disguise. I came back and proved that I’m still capable of winning races. Now, we’re in the number one spot fighting for the championship.
My number won goal for this weekend is to win the Pro Open championship. My second goal, a close second, is to win both main events. In the past, I haven’t had consistent finishes at Lake Geneva. I have a love hate relationship with that track. I’m excited and motivated to win some races this weekend.”
