Hibbert Extends Points Lead to Enter Final Race in Charge of Championship

March 10, 2014 – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert had a solid weekend at his home race in Glyndon, Minn. and gained another 22 points over second place in the 2014 ISOC Pro Open Championship chase. The defending champion will enter the final event of the season with a comfortable 120-point lead. With three days of racing and 135 points on the line in Lake Geneva, Wisc., Hibbert has the opportunity to clinch the championship Friday night.

Hibbert was perfect in qualifying both Friday and Saturday on Buffalo River Race Park’s horseshoe shaped, high-speed track. He ripped the holeshot in Friday’s Pro Open final and commanded the 14-rider, 15-lap race to win by a jaw-dropping 25 seconds.

In Saturday’s Pro Open final, Hibbert was strong off the start but a first turn incident ejected him from his sled. Uninjured, he reentered the 14-rider race in last place. He quickly moved through the pack and by lap three of 15, he slotted into eighth place. The following lap, he lost control of his sled after getting high-sided in a tight left-hand split-lane corner. By the time he remounted his sled, he was shuffled back to 12th. He put on a second impressive charge determined to get on the podium but ran out of time to finish in fifth place.

The ISOC National Snocross Grand Finale in Lake Geneva, Wisc. this weekend will feature three days of Pro Open racing. For the first time in ISOC history, the final race will be broadcast live on national television. Fans can stream Friday and Saturday’s events online at ustream.tv/isoc from 6-10 pm CT and watch Sunday’s event live on CBS Sports Network beginning at 1 pm CT.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“It’s cool racing so close to home and having so many friends and family cheering me on. I was excited to see the stands packed Saturday night. Overall, it was a good weekend. I felt really good on the track. Saturday’s final didn’t go as planned after I had a little help in the first turn, but I’m glad I came out of it safe. I’m heading into the final race healthy and with a strong points lead and that’s all the matters. This year has been incredible and it’s hard to believe the season is almost done. I’m looking forward to wrapping up the championship in Lake Geneva and celebrating months of hard work with my team.”

Tucker Hibbert Returns Home to Compete at Fargo Snocross National

March 3, 2014 – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert will compete at his home race this weekend in Glyndon, Minnesota. For the third year, Buffalo River Race Park (BRRP) will host the ISOC Fargo Snocross National Friday and Saturday night. Hibbert lives only 30 miles from BRRP in rural Pelican Rapids.

Hibbert, who’s in his 14th professional season, is having a banner year. In January, he broke the record for the most Pro National Snocross wins and won his seventh-consecutive X Games gold medal. With his recent win streak, he’s now 11 for 12 on the ISOC National tour and has a firm grip on the 2014 Pro Open Points Championship.

Although Hibbert rarely spends time at home in the winter months, he’ll get to sleep in his own bed this weekend. With a strong following in the area, he hopes to have an allegiance of fans supporting him at BRRP.

Pro racing action takes place both Friday and Saturday night from 6 to 10 pm. The event will be streamed live online at ustream.tv/isoc and broadcast on CBS Sports Network. Tickets and pit passes will be available for purchase at the gate.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“It’s a really cool feeling racing close to home. I rarely get to sleep in my own bed in the winter so this weekend will be awesome.
I’m excited to see the track at BRRP. I know Kevin (track owner) and his crew have been working really hard to make an awesome track and put together a great event. The weather forecast looks comfortable so I hope to see the stands packed.

It’s a good feeling going into the last couple races with a big points lead in the championship. The goal is to keep riding consistent throughout qualifying and the main events. I’ve never felt better on my sled. Everything’s clicking this season and I’m having a lot of fun racing.”

Tucker Hibbert Continues Win Streak at Michigan’s Ram Truck Snocross

February 24, 2014 – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert continued his win streak at the inaugural Ram Truck Snocross at Soaring Eagle Casino in central Michigan. Winning all his qualifying rounds and both main events in dominating fashion, the defending Pro Open Champion made it clear he enjoyed racing on Mt. Pleasant’s massive track featuring big air jumps, split lane corners and technical rhythm sections.

High wind with gusts exceeding 40 mph Friday night added yet another technical element to an already challenging racetrack. Riders were forced to tactically hit jumps to compensate for the wind pushing them in the air. Hibbert’s precision and patience paid off as he won both his qualifying rounds and the final event by sizable margins.

Both the riders and spectators welcomed Saturday’s clear skies and mild wind. The first round of Pro Open qualifying was a thriller after Hibbert got a last place start in the seven-lap, eight-rider race. Taking advantage of the big track, Hibbert was creative with line choices and stayed ultra low on jumps to make his way to the front of the field. He went on to win his second round of qualifying giving him first start line selection for the 12-lap, 14-rider main event. Hibbert pulled the Stud Boy holeshot but No. 53 Kody Kamm found a line around him. On lap five, Kamm high sided himself on the inside of a split lane corner giving Hibbert the lead. With a clear track in front of him, Hibbert pulled away from the field to win by over 15 seconds.

Overall, Hibbert gained 28 points on second place Kamm in the Pro Open Championship title chase. After a weekend break, he’ll take his 98-point lead into the final two events of the ISOC season.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“This weekend was a lot of fun. We’ve had small tracks the past two races so it was nice to have a big racetrack with room to try different lines. Racing on a big track makes it less stressful. I like that I don’t have to take chances and have space to set up passes.

I was put in a mix of race situations this weekend — coming from behind and leading from the beginning. One qualifying race came down to the last lap. The team worked super hard to have the success we did. It’s always fun to achieve our goals.

I’m really excited about the championship. Gaining 28 points on the weekend is a huge advantage for us. I’ve been doing everything I can to maximize my points and I feel really comfortable going into the last two events.”

Hibbert Unstoppable in New York to Sweep Eastern Snocross National

February 10, 2014 – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert had a perfect weekend in Salamanca, New York to sweep rounds nine and ten of the ISOC National Snocross tour. Seneca Allegany Casino hosted the only eastern stop of the ISOC tour and featured the shortest track of the season with pro rider lap times dipping into the low 20-second range.

Hibbert entered Friday night’s Pro Open final with first start line pick after winning both his qualifying races. He grabbed a third place start in the 15-rider, 28-lap main event but was shuffled back to ninth on lap one after getting tangled with another rider. He put his head down and by utilizing the outside sweeper lane of the split corner in turn two, he picked off riders every lap. Near the halfway mark, he laid down the fastest lap of the race and moved into third place. On lap 16, he took the lead and never looked back to finish the race five seconds over second place.

Saturday began the same for Hibbert by sweeping his qualifying races. In the final, he got another third place start but quickly slotted behind leader Kyle Pallin. He spent the first ten laps of the 28-lap race stalking Pallin, looking for a line to make a clean pass. Riding smart on the choppy, icy track, Hibbert passed Pallin and took control of the race to record his 89th career victory.

Next up for Hibbert is the Ram Truck National in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. February 21-22. The event will be streamed live online at ustream.tv/isoc and broadcasted on CBS Sports Network.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“It was another weekend of short track racing so I’m happy to end the weekend healthy. Under a thin layer of sugary snow, the track was really icy. It was tough on the body and sled. It feels good to sweep a weekend again and to stretch out my points lead. The Monster Energy/Arctic Cat crew did an awesome job helping me make adjustments to my sled to get me as comfortable as I could be on the track.

I’m really looking forward to the Mt. Pleasant race. I heard the track is going to be big which makes me excited. It’s a first time event so it’s hard to know what to expect. Hopefully there will be a big crowd and we can put on a good show.”
