Dec. 12, 2011 – Monster Energy’s Tucker Hibbert put on an impressive show at the second stop of the ISOC National Snocross Series in Bessemer, Mich. putting to rest the questions surrounding Arctic Cat’s all-new Sno Pro 600. Hibbert won all of his qualifying rounds and ran away with the Pro Open final Sunday afternoon by taking the holeshot, riding flawlessly and crossing the finish line over 15 seconds ahead of second place.

The Blackjack National featured a massive track built on the side of a ski hill stacked with deep rollers, towering berms and challenging rhythm sections. Hibbert, the defending Pro Open Champion, consistently turned the fastest laps of the weekend proving once again he’s the man to beat.

After a rough season opener two weeks ago in Duluth, Minn., Hibbert and Team Monster Energy/Arctic Cat went to work to improve his race package. He proved his hard work paid off by notching a near perfect race weekend. While leading the Pro Open final Saturday afternoon and with two laps to go, a mechanical issue forced him to back off and coast in to finish fourth, eluding him of a weekend sweep. He bounced back Sunday by winning both qualifiers and the final with a dominating race from start to finish.

With a three-week break on the schedule, Hibbert has no plan to slow down but to continue to test and tune. Racing action resumes Jan. 6-7 at the historic Canterbury Park Racetrack outside of Minneapolis, Minn. Until then, catch the NBC Sports (VERSUS) broadcast of the Duluth National Sunday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. ET.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat

“This was a big weekend for me. We (the team) made huge improvements on our overall race package and it showed. The track was long and rough. ISOC did an awesome job building a challenging track.

I felt night and day better than I did at Duluth. With a weekend off, I was able to put more time on new ProCross chassis to get more comfortable. I was able to charge hard and ride to my potential. I felt strong, just like I have in the past.

Going into this break, I have a lot of confidence and I’m excited to see how much more we can improve. After our performance this weekend, I know we’re up-to-speed and fully capable of winning races.”

Hibbert Returns to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula Determined to Win

Dec. 6, 2011 – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert will make his second career appearance in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this weekend at round two of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series (ACSS) at Blackjack Ski Resort. Fans can trail ride to the track Saturday and Sunday in Bessemer to watch Hibbert compete to capture his first win on Arctic Cat’s all-new chassis.

The reigning Pro Open Champion gained valuable seat time on the 2012 Sno Pro 600 at the opening round of the ACSS Tour in Duluth, Minn. Thanksgiving weekend. Hibbert and his crew took what they learned at Duluth and spent the weekend off testing and improving his race package. He is confident he will hit the track in Bessemer on a more polished race machine.

Hibbert will enter the Blackjack National 11 points behind the current leader. With 90 points on the line this weekend between four rounds of qualifying and two finals, he is determined to close the gap and make his return to the top step of the podium.

Fans can watch the event live online at www.ustream.tv/xsantv and catch the behind the scenes action on NBC Sports Sunday, January 8 at 5 p.m. EST.

“I’m excited to race in the U.P. again. The area supports snowmobiling and has awesome trails. This weekend, fans can ride right to the racetrack. It’s a cool way for the whole family to spend the weekend – riding and watching racing.

This will be a big weekend for me. I didn’t have the results I wanted at Duluth. We (the team) put our heads down, did a lot of testing and are confident we’re entering this weekend with a stronger program. I’m focused on taking the first win on Arctic Cat’s new Procross chassis in Bessemer.”

Young Guns Shootout – Freestyle Snowmobile Competition @ Blackjack Ski Resort

What?: Young Guns Shootout – “Semi-Pro” Freestyle Snowmobile Comp

When?: Friday, Dec 9th at 5:00 pm & Saturday, Dec 10th at 8:00 pm

Where?: Blackjack Ski Resort – Bessemer, MI

Who?: Rider list coming soon!

Press release:

Bessemer, MI (December 2nd, 2011) While many sledheads are familiar with the top Freestyle Snowmobile Athletes they see on T.V. competing in the Winter X Games, there are many lesser-known but very skilled up-and-coming riders from North America and Europe pushing the limits on their sleds with the goal of one day being invited to ride at premier events like Winter X or Red Bull Fuel & Fury. These riders hone their tricks on backyard ramp setups and at smaller local & regional demos. The Young Guns Shootout was created to give them a chance to gain experience in a competitive format in front of a large crowd.

Matt “Tinger” Tingstad has been riding freestyle professionally for the ISOC Amsoil Championship Snocross Series for the past 3 years. When ISOC announced they were holding a national event at Blackjack Ski Resort, the Bessemer local saw it as a perfect opportunity to showcase these “Young Guns”. “There are a lot of talented riders out there who just need some exposure, this is an excellent event for them to get it,” Tingstad said. “We’ve also put together a nice purse and prize package to help outfit the top competitors, and the winner will also be given the opportunity to ride in the ISOC freestyle show on Sunday along with Cory Davis, Dylan Harju, and myself.”

The Shootout kicks off Friday evening with qualifying heats running after the ISOC Regional Snocross races have wrapped up. A jam session format, where each heat of riders gets ten minutes to squeeze in as many ramp hits as possible, will make for non-stop action. Once the ISOC ACSS events winds down on Saturday night, the Young Guns freestyle action will heat up Blackjack Ski Area.

”While we have a lot of skilled freestylers right around the area, this is by no means a locals only event,” added Tingstad. “Riders are coming from as far away as Maine, Wyoming and even Alaska to throw down. We’ve got a panel of pro riders for judges, and with Paul Thacker on the microphone, it’s sure to be a high caliber show.”

Friday evening’s entertainment will not end once the competition is over. Young Guns supporter, No.Style Productions, is throwing a premier party for their new video release “The Brofessional” at Club Sierra in nearby Hurley, WI. The film features Tingstad and many other professional riders performing stunning tricks and maneuvers on freestyle ramps and in the backcountry. Several of the featured riders will also be in attendance. The party starts at 8:00 and the video plays at 9:30. This is a 21+ only premier party.”
